![]() That threat manifests itself as the Beast Titan, who is stupid good at throwing stuff. ![]() All of these guys are only mortal, facing down incomprehensible threats and proving their worth alongside some uncommonly talented allies. You see it with Batman in the Justice League. I love the flawed mortal who needs to work hard to keep up with a team of badasses. Jean is one of my favorite character types. No one really expects genius tactician Armin to hand off control to… Jean. “Jean, can you take my place?” Armin asks, and everyone does a double take including Titan Eren. And while Armin has been totally tearing it up, his failure to bring Bertholdt down has left him shook. Where we last left off, Bertholdt had just barely escaped from Armin and Mikasa, but barely was enough time to transform into the Colossal Titan. Let’s get into it! Buckle up your Omni-Directional Movement gear and lets swoop into Attack on Titan season 3, episode 16, ‘Perfect Game.’ We are continuing on through the third season, as part of our 2020 Summer TV Binge. This is the part where I let you know that I am very much not a regular anime watcher but that this strange and at times horrifying show has gotten under my skin and never let me go. It’s time for another episode of Attack on Titan. Needless to say, this was by far the biggest plot twist on the show, and one that no fan could have ever predicted.Welcome back! Are you prepared?! Hunker behind these walls and smell that fascist smell. Not only did they talk about Ymir Fritz's deal with the Devil of All Earth which granted her the Power of the Titans, but it also revealed that Titans were actually created by the people of Marley after the Great Titan War, who were injecting Eldians with Titan Spinal Fluid and dumping them onto the last standing Eldian territory, Paradis Island, in an attempt to box them in and punish them for their actions. The three books left behind in the basement explained nearly everything there was to know about the origins of the Titans. ![]() Fans had been theorizing for a long time that the information that could reveal the origins of the Titans lay within this basement, so when an expedition was set out to return to the Shigashina District in the story, it became clear that the reveal wouldn't be far away. Luckily, Eren manages to survive the encounter since the Titan only bit off his arm, not his spine where the Titan power was held, but this was definitely still an unnerving moment that suggested for a second that maybe Eren wasn't going to be the main character after all.Īt the very beginning of the show during a flashback, we see Eren's father promise to the young man that he will show him the contents of his basement as soon as he gets home, but with Eren never seeing Grisha again after that point, this was never able to happen. However, as the soldiers are picked off one by one, Eren eventually gets trapped in the jaws of a Titan after saving Armin, which seemingly kills him after it crunches down. RELATED: Attack On Titan: The Most Cathartic Moments In The AnimeĪs early as episode 5, Eren and the other members of the Training Corps are sent on a mission to help wipe out the Titans at Trost and protect the civilians while they evacuate. ![]() While the Attack on Titan manga was certainly growing in popularity before the anime had even aired, it was really only when the anime appeared that the series began its climb to becoming a worldwide phenomena, and while the gruesome setting and terrifying Titans certainly contributed to this, this twist also got a lot of people talking about it. ![]()
